Sick of the burdensome task of trying to survive under the Australian Government's intervention program in Northern Territory, Charlie (David Gulpilil) decides to go bush, seeking to live the old way. The film was co-written by star Gulpilil and director Rolf de Heer and draws from Gulpilil's own experience of living in remote communities. Gulpilil is mesmerising as Charlie, the role which earned him Best Actor in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival 2014.
