About
As part of 'Asia Pacific Triennial Cinema: Future Visions', join us for a screening of the award-winning short film Heel 2024 followed by an In Conversation with director Thomas Fairchild and lead actor Ian Bolt.
Set in a near-future Queensland, a farmer reluctantly invests in a new mass-market time travel device to enable him to reunite with his recently departed four-legged companion. Clinging to the rapidly fading final memories of his beloved pet, the farmer’s well-intentioned plan drives him towards a painful confrontation with the present.
The latest narrative short film from Brisbane-based filmmaker Thomas Fairchild, Heel is an evocative tale of memory, nostalgia and loss that addresses the difficult transition from a known past into an unknown future.
