About
Join us for a talk by film critic Keva York as part of 'Hollywood Screwballs'. This event is free, with no bookings required.
The 1930s witnessed the rise of a new kind of romantic comedy: fast-talking, fiercely witty, and full of innuendo, screwball movies were modern fairytales with a deliciously satiric tang. In this talk, film critic Keva York will examine the anatomy and evolution of this still-beguiling genre.
Keva York is a New York-born, Melbourne-based writer and film critic. She is a regular contributor to ABC Arts, with work also appearing in 'The Saturday Paper', 'the Australian Book Review', and 'The Monthly'.
