The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art recently celebrated fifteen years of programming for kids. To coincide with this milestone and the major exhibition 'Cai Guo-Qiang: Falling Back to Earth', the Children's Art Centre has developed a program for regional and remote Queensland communities to work together to create art, connecting with the work of artist Cai Guo-Qiang.
Kids on Tour will comprise a range of projects developed by the artist in collaboration with the Gallery especially for children and family audiences, enabling Queensland communities the opportunity to enjoy the festivities at their local venue.
Young visitors can take part in the program by learning about and participating in Cai Guo-Qiang's exciting working methods to create their own exhibition at their local venue. Kids can make and display objects, create spectacular multimedia gunpowder drawings and explosion events and watch a short animated film about the art and adventures of Cai Guo-Qiang.
